Frameless shower screensÂ
Your shower screen installer will make sure that a frameless shower screen is suitable for your space. Next, they’ll set out the brackets, attach the brackets, install the fixed panel, secure the hinge panel, seal the gaps, and then attach the door panel. To finish off the job, they’ll check that all the gaps are even, tighten the screws, and remove the blocks. If required, they’ll cut away excess rubber from the other panels. Your shower will be ready to use in 12 hours once the sealant is fully set. This process will, of course, be even simpler if you only have a fixed shower panel with no hinged door (popular for larger shower spaces).
Semi-frameless shower screensÂ
A semi-frameless shower screen has a frame outside the glass, but no frame around the door or adjoining parts of the screen. If you’re getting a semi-frameless shower screen installed, your contractor will first fix the mounting brackets to the walls. Next, they’ll mark the positions of the holes, drill the holes, and secure the frame. They’ll check that everything is even and remove the supporting blocks. After 12 hours, the sealant will be fully set and your shower should be ready for use.
Framed shower screensÂ
Framed showers come fully framed (including the door). This comes in a variety of styles, including hinged, sliding, fixed panel, and corner shower screens. The exact installation steps vary depending on the style of framed shower screens you need to be installed. But generally, they’ll start by fixing metal channels to the wall, before installing the first and second panels and then sealing it all in with silicone to prevent water leakage.Â

We require 2x jobs to be done: 1. Removal/disposal of existing shower screen, installation of new one. Need to cut the new rubber seal to size and install underneath and seal in position so this does not move. Seal with waterproof sealant and clear silicone. New wired thermostat to be installed and fixed to wall, tested and ensure it is working with all heating in property. This is a manual programmable thermostat (not smart). Model to install: Honeywell T4 7 Day Programmable Wired Thermostat T4H110A Parts (bath shower screen, thermostat, and rubber seal) can be collected from Toolstation Colindale (nearby). We will provide the reference number for collection. The property is tenanted, so this job would need to be completed by Monday 18 Dec 2023. Access is available on Monday or Wednesday 9-5pm. We will provide all details to the chosen tradesperson. We have regular work, so we require a reasonable quote and hope to work again in the future. Images attached of screen area to be replaced. - Due date: to be done or before 18 Dec 2023. Tenants can do Monday and Wednesdays for entry.
