Hey there! Thanks for stopping by. We’re Airtasker, the tech company that connects people who need to get things done with those who have the skills to do it.

Our mission is to empower people to realise the full value of their skills. This doesn’t just apply to those who use our product. It’s also for our whooooooole team of go-getters who bring the product to life and deliver impact to our community on a daily basis. Because we believe work (and life) is always better when you truly know and appreciate your strengths and skills.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to be a key leader in our design team and shape the future of our products! You’ll take ownership of all stages of design—from tackling complex, undefined problems to delivering polished, impactful solutions that exceed user expectations.

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to help users unlock more value from our products. With strong end-to-end skills, you’ll lead your product team in understanding the space, defining product strategies, and creating solutions that empower users to reach their goals.

You’ll champion high-quality design, driving a unified user experience across Airtasker’s product portfolio. Through design reviews, mentorship, and close collaboration with our VP of Product, you’ll help define and bring to life the future of Airtasker. If you’re passionate about design excellence and making an impact, we’d love to have you on the team!

What you’ll do:

  • Creatively solve problems by balancing data and intuition to make informed decisions.

  • Lead the entire design process, from concept to delivery, ensuring top-notch quality and consistency.

  • Clearly articulate design concepts and the reasoning behind your decisions.

  • Drive and maintain the evolution of the Airtasker Group Design System, ensuring consistency across iOS, Android, and Web, while pushing accessibility and visual design standards forward.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn user needs and requirements into delightful, impactful, and bug-free solutions.

  • Lead design workshops and brainstorming sessions, aligning teams and stakeholders with strong facilitation skills.

  • Mentor and empower other designers, providing feedback, hosting design reviews, and fostering a collaborative, innovative design culture.

We’d love to hear from you if you tick some of these boxes:

  • Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics (demand & supply mechanics) and product design fundamentals.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of design best practices, accessibility standards, and experience with platform-specific apps (iOS, Android).

  • Expertise in Figma and creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate solutions effectively.

  • Proven ability to creatively solve complex user problems with a mix of data and intuition.

  • Exceptional design craft with a portfolio showcasing visual interface design and interaction skills.

  • Experience building and maintaining Design Systems across platforms.

  • Strong verbal communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills across cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and React (nice to have), plus knowledge of design system engineering principles (tokenisation is a bonus!).

  • Skilled in conducting both qualitative and quantitative user research.

  • Experience mentoring designers, providing constructive feedback, and leading design reviews.
