What do pet services include?

Pet care services go beyond basic care for your pets - they can also help with boarding, companionship, and exercise. Importantly, they can help you look after your pet if you’re unable to or if you’ll be away. Here are a range of pet care services available to help with your pet:

Pet sitting & boarding

Most pet owners consider boarding kennels for their pets when they’re heading away overnight or for an extended period, but your pet can also stay in your home or in the home of a registered pet sitter. Some pet boarding services also offer a day care service for those pets that don’t like to be left alone during the day. At a pet-boarding service, your pet will receive food, exercise, and comfortable bedding as well as the company of people and dogs around them. There may also be music and air conditioning in some places. Or if you choose a pet, dog, or cat sitting services, your pet can stay in familiar surroundings and keep to their routine. This is especially helpful for anxious pets or those that need constant supervision.

Dog walking & exercise

If you’re working long hours or heading away on holiday, dog walking services can help your pooch get their daily workout to keep them happy and healthy. During the walk, they’ll burn off energy and ward of feelings of boredom and restlessness for when they’re back home alone. You can book dog walking as a one-off or regular service, and your dog may be walked with others if it’s comfortable with socialisation. Your dog walker will use your dog’s normal collar and lead, plus bring along treats to encourage good behaviour. They’ll walk your dog for around 30 minutes, before bringing them safely back into your home or yard.

Washing & grooming

Washing and grooming are necessary for every pet’s health and wellbeing. Specialised pet grooming (including cat grooming and dog grooming) services are equipped to bathe your pet with minimal mess and fess. Your pet groomer will wash and dry your pet’s coat, clip fur, trim nails, and administer any pest treatments in a single appointment. You’ll likely need to book pet grooming around once a month, ensuring your brush your pet’s fur to keep it clear of dirt between appointments.

Dog training

Getting help with dog training can be the quickest way to a house-trained and obedient pet. Dog training will help to improve your dog’s behaviours such as digging, jumping, and barking, while also giving them a chance to socialise with other dogs. Training can be done individually or as part of a group. Many new pet owners enrol their dogs into puppy preschool from as young as 8 weeks to encourage good behaviour early on.
