we want to use wifi extender from our house to barn next door to house we have brought the wireless extender already it’s connecting it

Our wifi connection at our flat is horrible. Our chorus model 200 ONT says it is set up correctly as does our D-Link R15 modem. Upon trying to connect to our wifi (which says it has 3 bars) we find “incorrect password” error message, although we set the password ourselves and know it to be correct. If we get past that stage and connect to the network, it is incredibly slow and drops often. We find ourselves having to power cycle the modem roughly 3 or 4 times a day which fixes the issue briefly before the next time it drops out. We are a group of student who frankly have no clue what we are doing and need some help as everything seems to be working perfectly but yet none of us can achieve a strong internet connection.

Bought new Netgear router, regardless of configuration I am unable to get it to connect to internet. Previous router still works fine, so it is not an issue with modem. Was unable to pinpoint the issue with both Slingshot & Netgear Support lines.
