Hello! We are looking for an experienced and energetic DJ to make our wedding reception an unforgettable one on July 26, 2024, at the Arrow Swanston Hotel in Melbourne CBD. The event will run from 5 PM to 11 PM and will be attended by approximately 80-90 guests, mostly aged 30-40, if that would help with music choices. The evening will begin with a cocktail and canapés at 5 PM, followed by a short program and dinner, and then dancing and drinking onwards. The ideal candidate will have professional sound and light equipment and setup. No MC duties are required, as we have a friend handling that role. We are very open to suggestions and are relying on your expertise to make our wedding reception a success. Please provide references or links to any sample mixes or past performances. My 4 Piece Band will perform from 18.00 up until around 21.00 3. From 21.00 ish DJ will perform dance songs until around 23.00 4. Event finish and pack up So in summary looking for DJ to perform just for 2 hours but need to setup before event starts. Hi there! We are looking for a (non MC) straight up DJ who can BYO pioneer/deck, lighting and everything they'll need, to DJ our wedding reception on November the 15th, ~6:30pm till probably 11:30pm, St Andrews Conservatory in Fitzroy. I believe the venue has a means to jack into their sound system, hopefully via XLR connector otherwise I suppose it'll be TRS. Have to check with the venue. We want it to be a great party, beginning cocktail style and ramping up after speeches to a packed dancefloor. It's an intimate < 60 guests, mostly who are all in their late 30s to mid 40s, with a small handful of the older parents in their 60s and 70s. We have a list of songs we want and can supply you a playlist but also would like you to talk about recommendations with us due to your no doubt extensive knowledge of cross-generational bangers that will go off. I guess 90s and early 2000s are going to be hit given the age bracket that is mostly going to be there, that we can definitely mix things up. We have a small exclusion list of songs not to play as well. The wedding is cocktail party style with no sit down meals, a half hour ceremony, then after speeches the real DJ work will kick in! So we probably won't need you for the whole time we're in the venue, it'll probably be more from 6:30/7pm onwards, but that's just a guess at this point, and we would be open to you providing your thoughts and recommendations as this whole thing is very new to us, and we don't really know what to expect. So we're after someone who's had experienc at DJing wedding reception venues. We will have a separate celebrant & MC as well as the venue manager to help you co-ordinate your setup and stuff like that. I'm going to a party with the theme "Surrealist Spectaculare" and require someone to do some creative and bizarre makeup/face paint for a male costume.
