I just need to remove a stain from the sofa without damaging the sofa

I want to switch some sofas around from the ground floor of my two storey Victorian terrace, to the top floor. There is a large sofa that needs bringing down, which is relatively light. Then a two seater sofa, which is quite heavy and bulky, needs moving up. Finally, a single armchair in the same design as the two seater also needs moving up.
