What do after builders cleaning services include?

No need to worry about removing remaining traces on your own—booking a post-renovation cleaning service can protect the quality of your property after a major change. The after builders cleaning process includes dusting, vacuuming, and polishing your space to get rid of unnecessary elements. This also means cleaning all fixtures, switches, sockets, surfaces, woodwork, and hard floors.

Enjoy the results of your newly-renovated home or workplace by exploring these offerings:

Dusting ducts, vents, and grates

The process of post-renovation cleaning starts with removing all large pieces of debris, renovation material leftovers, and tools left by the workers. Renovation cleaners usually do this after installing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The most vital part is cleaning the grates and vents.

Dust and debris get suspended in the air and easily permeate your vents. It’s important for your Tasker to remove the vent covers from the walls and ceilings, clean each one using soap and warm water, and dry them thoroughly. Better yet, the specialist can replace any exposed air filters with fresh ones before changing the covers, as breathing unfiltered air can lead to allergies and respiratory issues.

Cleaning rooms, fixtures, and furniture

Your Tasker’s next step is to deep-clean your kitchen, bathroom, and other nearby areas affected by the renovation.

For windows, your hired expert will wipe down and polish the insides—including the window sills and frames—and wash and dry the screens.

They can also remove the dust and dirt from your doors, plus their frames and handles. A lot of unnecessary elements get trapped in the skirting board as well, so the specialist is expected to freshen up your walls and other surfaces. Mouldings are also a no-no.

Your hired worker can also clean the affected fixtures and appliances like lights, switches, sinks, toilets, stoves, and backsplashes. Dust and dirt can travel into your furniture like cabinets and closets, so it’s a must to take out everything stored inside and wipe the interior shelves, with extra attention given to the hard-to-reach corners.

Vacuuming upholstery and floors

Upholstered furniture can be a lair of dirty particles. Allowing dust to settle after a major revamp can lead to ugly and damaging results. When they are left between the fabric fibres, dust loosens the weave and leads to wear and tear of the material. Your Tasker can vacuum all soft surfaces, each furniture cushion, as well as underlying frames.

Tidying up the floor is the final step in an after builders cleaning session, as this is where the dirt and debris massively wind up. This involves cleaning paint spots, plaster, footprints, and other stains. They can sweep away large chunks of building materials, screws or bits of sawdust before running the vacuum.

Give your Tasker a heads up on what kind of floor you have, as this is important in their process. You can also request them to deep-clean your stairs and hallways, and even polish your tiles.

Magill SA 5072, Australia

28th Feb 2021

Need a reliable Airtasker to help Clean my 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom house Notes: Require a once off house cleaner for newly renovated home, it has just been painted and new floorboards laid. One small area of original terracotta tiles remain that require vacuum and mopping (possibly 2-3 times to get rid of the builders dust). Bathrooms - (2 bathrooms, separate toilet and laundry) are original and need a deep clean of all grout and silicone, particularly in showers, 2x shower screens and 1x bathtub. Old owner was a very thorough cleaner but this requires tiles scrubbed and a disinfectant cleaner used. Existing cupboards - (3x linen cupboards, 1 bedroom wardrobe and 2x vanities) these need a thorough clean and rid of any dirt or dust from previous owner. All internal panels of cupboards and backs of doors must be cleaned thoroughly. All outer panels, doors fronts, door edging and bench tops to be cleaned also. Bedroom wardrobe includes drawers, these will need to be removed and cleaned, along with drawer runners. A ladder will be required to reach inside cupboards, we can provide this. New cupboards - 2x bedroom wardrobes (bed 2 & 3). These will first need to be dusted to remove saw dust and then all internal panels and backs of doors cleaned with warm water and spirits. Front face and edges of doors will require no cleaning. All window sills inside and outside are to be dusted and wiped over with damp clean cloth. All shutters are to be dusted and cleaned with domestic cleaner. All new floors to be vacuumed and mopped (laminate floating floors and tiles, no carpet). Staircase and upper landing to be dusted, vacuumed and mopped. Sweep and mop single car garage. All skirting boards will need to be dusted and wiped down with a damp, clean cloth. Please note that if any streaks from cleaning products or dust is evident, you will be asked to clean it again. There is no kitchen. Kitchen install has been delayed so no cleaning of kitchen cupboards, bench top or sink is required. No cleaning of glass of windows required (we have hired a professional window cleaner for this), only timber frames inside and out. Property is free of furniture and all trades will be finished and out of the property. We will provide: mop and bucket, all rags and ladder. I will have cleaning products available for use but you can bring your preferred products if you want. Please provide your own vacuum cleaner (please be aware that walls are newly painted and care with vacuums and mops will need to be taken). Whilst this is a once off thorough and deep clean, we are looking for a cleaner on a weekly-fortnightly basis and the job will be offered to the right person if you are interested. Feel free to ask any questions and a time can be arrange to view the property first, if you prefer. Thank you.

TERRIBLE! I’m shocked by the response received when asking Cory to return to rectify some simple cleaning issues. Even after providing photos, I was accused of staging dust on shutters and using old dirty rags to show areas that were not attended too!! And this was after Cory saying if anything needed re-doing that she would return on Saturday. - DON’T BELIEVE HER! I chose to go with Cory because I supplied a detailed list of things I wanted done and how I wanted them done, and she agreed and proposed a rate $150 more than my initial budget. I agreed because I thought I was dealing with a serious business owner, instead she proved to be very defensive (even before seeing photos) and dismissive of anything I brought up with her and then finally accusing me of making it up. I’m so disappointed and her response has been unprofessional and down right disgusting. Her and her partner made $41/hr each from my job and they refuse to take any responsibility for any of their work.
