Curtains for large windows require curtain lengths to be sewn together and hung. Hi I have a dress that was too small so the zipper broke when I tried to wear it. It needs a zipper replaced with one that is stretchy so the dress has some stretch added to it. It’s a satin material so it doesn’t have stretch but the bodice is corset style. Please let me know if you have the skill to help me. - Due date: Flexible

Urgently looking for a dressmaker or sewer who can alter a top for my birthday this Saturday. Just some background: It is a strapless top and after birthing & breastfeeding two small elephants, the girls needs support. It is also a little big so will need taking in. If it could somehow work with a strapless bra or have cups built in that would be fab. A strapless bra would have to be hidden due to the arch in the top (see model below) As i'm very time poor it would be ideal if you were local or even better, if you could come to me in Epping Vic. I currently have 5 x 6 yard bolts of 100% cotton, non stretch Kente fabric, traditionally used in African nations. My dad is from Ghana. He has his garments made there and i have been sitting on some of these fabrics for years as i am afraid they will be wasted in the wrong hands! Initially, i would ask you to create one piece from one of the bolts of fabric to see if my dreams are achievable. PLEASE NOTE: i do not have patterns. In Ghana (and i'm sure most of Africa) the tailor/seamstress will take your measurements and design a custom garment for you. This is what we're used to but seems to be a sticking point! This is not to say we cannot source and/or have patterns made by a patternmaker. I have only the main fabric. The budget is to include things such as thread, zippers, lining and trimmings. We can negotiate this and/or i can meet you at Spotlight/Lincraft. If this works, i have plenty more fabric...so does my mum, and i have two sisters...and i'm sure my dad would appreciate not having to go overseas just to have clothing made. Plus, there's a whole community of people sending all their clothing to a very small pool of African clothes makers! Basically, there will be lots of referrals for the right person. I am looking for a sewer to help operate upholstery and regular machines, experience in dealing with thick and also bulky fabrics is important, being a strong sewer is key. A pattern maker is also required and if you can achieve both that would be great. $35 per hour.
