Altering Backpack

I am looking to have a comfortable backpack to do weighted walks in! I've used my camo backpack for a while and although it's great, when I have heavier weight, I have to constantly adjust the straps as the bags keeps slipping down. Because of this I bought a new backpack. It's great but there's no strap across the chest and the strap around my hips is not tight enough. The shoulder straps do not need readjusting which is amazing. Does anyone know how to possible transfer the tightening fasten from the new pack back to the old one OR create an adjustable chest strap and hip strap on my new backpack (I would prefer this as the new backpack is more comfy). If it's possible to use the chest and hip strap material from my old bag and transfer to my new bag that would be amazing too.
