Mac - Data disappeared and needs to be retrieved. Desktop PC- Connect to the Epson Printer.

I haven’t used my 2010-2012 Mac book pro since 2016. I still have a lot of files, documents and photos stored on it that I would like to retrieve. I don’t have a charger for it anymore. I would like to retrieve all of my data onto an external hard drive or import them to my more recent Mac book. Which ever is easier.
