Canley Heights NSW, Australia

The car was being reverse and the bumper, just near the right tire, was caught of a metal pole and ripped the mud guard, snapped the electrical lights that were connected to the fog lights, and the bumper bar dislodged. I have lodged insurance but it’s not until next week and was wondering if someone can do it earlier? - Due date: Flexible

What do Car Bumper Repair services include?
Car bumper repair services, particularly for commonly-used plastic bumpers, include checking the damage and looking for visible scuffs, scratches, and cracks. After assessing the damage, taskers will provide a quote and detail how much time they will need to complete the job and may advise you of any materials they might need. Car bumper repair services include fixing cracks, dents and deep scratches, along with the cleaning and sanding to your car’s front or rear plastic bumper to complete the process.
Plastic Car Bumper Repair: Fixing Dents
Did you back into something and caused a dent on your plastic bumper? Did you miscalculate and bump the car in front of you? Whatever the cause of cuts on your car’s plastic bumpers, know that you don’t have to replace the entire bumper if these dents are minor. Compared to buying a brand new plastic bumper, these dents can be expertly repaired. Our taskers can bring your bumpers back to near-pristine condition. To repair dents, they will heat the plastic on the front and back of the dent, then gently push out from behind the dent. Taskers know the exact amount of heat and pressure to apply and avoid damaging the paint or causing worse damage to the bumper.Â
Fixing Scuffed Plastic Bumpers
Scuffed or scratched paint on plastic bumpers can be unsightly forms of cosmetic damage. Replacing an entire bumper is not advisable, as it will only cost a fraction of the price of a new bumper to have it repaired by our taskers. For scuffed bumpers, taskers will sand down to remove the problem areas. Once the scuffed area has been sanded smooth, the area will be thoroughly cleaned. A layer of primer is sprayed on and left to dry. The area will then be spray-painted to match the rest of the bumper, allowed to dry, then have a layer of clear coat applied. Â Â
Repairing Cracks on Plastic Bumpers
Fixing cracks on your car’s plastic bumpers is a form of car body repair work and requires a similar repair process. Taskers will first sand down uneven surfaces on the back and front of the damaged area. You can supply the tasker with your car bumper repair kit, but they may come prepared with their tools and materials. The cracked area will be held together with clamps in preparation for applying a bonding agent.
Frequently, a layer of epoxy-like plastic filler is used behind the crack, then left to dry; allowing the filler to dry may take a day. Once the filler is dry, a reinforcing material will be applied on the crack and secured with another layer of plastic filler, which is also left to dry. After the second layer has dried, the front of the dent will be further sanded and cleaned. Primer, succeeding coats of paint and clear coat will then be applied and each left to dry, until your plastic bumpers will have their cracks filled and look as good as new.Â
Removing Deep Scratches
To take out deep scratches from your car bumper, the scratch and part of its surrounding areas will be sanded smooth. The next step is to clean the sanded areas to remove any dirt or grease. This process is done to prepare the areas for priming, painting, and applying a clear-coat finish. These will be used in succession, with a couple of hours of drying times allowed in-between applications. Once completed, this process should remove all traces of any scratches, and your plastic bumpers should look brand new.
