Car Detailing Services
What do car detailers do?
Car detailing is not the same as simple car washing - it goes one step further. Car detailing providers use specialist tools and products to make your car looking like brand new. Never had your car detailed before? Here’s what car detailing services usually include:
Car Details Check
Your car detailer arrives on the date and time agreed. They check the condition of your vehicle and other car details to scope what needs to be done. Car detailing costs are usually set with an initial quote but pricing may change depending on the car inspection.
Car Detailing Kit
Next, they set up their car detailing kit which usually includes brushes, a pressure washer, cloths, polishes, and waxes. They bring their own toolkit which has all the tools and products they need for the process. Some car detailing services need access to an electrical point and outdoor tap. When coordinating with your local car detailer, let them know if these requirements are available.
Exterior Car Detailing
Your car detailer cleans your car’s exterior to remove as much dirt as possible from the body of the car, wheels, chassis, lights, and windows. The process varies between service providers but generally, they use specialist brushes and pressure washers to get rid of tougher muck. Then they dry your car and apply car care products that revive and repair your car’s paintwork. This is usually followed by a clay bar application, a polish, and a protective wax. Depending on your car detailer’s process, these are applied either by hand or using a car polisher tool.
Interior Car Detailing
Interior detailing involves shampooing, steam cleaning, and polishing the car seats and roof lining to remove dust, dirt, and maybe even pet hair. Your car detailer thoroughly vacuums your car's floor and mats and wipes down hard surfaces like your car's dashboard.
Final Car Inspection and Cleanup
By now your car's interiors and exteriors are sparkling. Your car detailer does a final check of every corner and trim. Once satisfied, they pack up their car detailing tools, ensure your garage or driveway is clean, and hand your car keys back.
If you feel that exterior and interior car detailing are not enough, you can consider taking it even further with a car engine steam cleaning or full car restoration.
