What does a car service include?
As a general rule, your car will likely need to be serviced every 6-12 months, depending on the manufacturer’s recommendations. The exact inclusions of your car service and mobile car service will vary depending on how much work is needed on your car. Some of the popular car services you can book on Airtasker include:
Oil and oil filter change
An oil and oil filter change will help your car run smoothly and increase fuel efficiency. It’s one of the most important parts of a service and should be included in both minor and major services. Your mechanic will find the oil drain plug, loosen and unscrew it, and carefully allow the old oil to drain into a pan. Then they’ll replace and tighten the plug before removing and replacing the filter. Finally, they’ll fill up with fresh oil up to the “full” mark on the dipstick.
Car minor service
A minor service is also known as an interim or basic service. It focuses on changing and topping up fluids and inspecting a number of components for wear and tear. My Volkswagen golf's check oil light came on a week ago which surprised me since I'm still 4 months away from my next service. When I checked the dipstick, it was just about halfway so I topped it up a little and the light went away. It came on again today and I topped it up again and then the light went away but I just realised I may have topped it up too much since the dipstick is about 70%-80% now. Not sure if it's safe to drive now as I'm pushing the limit on the oil level according to the manual. I need someone to come take a look, possibly drain some of the oil, check the oil pressure and investigate the oil sensor or oil pump?

the car starts, runs and drives perfectly until it doesn't. i.e drove to Morayfield shops, parked for a few hours shopping, went to leave but the car wouldn't start, wouldn't even fire. Got it towed home and the next morning it started with no problem at all. Got a mobile mechanic to look at it and it seemed to have an issue with the plug that connects to the coil pack (if you put downward pressure on the plug the engine would stall) For a temp fix the mechanic put a cable tie around the connector to put upward pressure on the plug. Used the car for the rest of the day and in the morning it wouldn't start again. Previously I replaced the coil pack the day after boxing day after being stuck on the SSC.
