What does a car service include?
As a general rule, your car will likely need to be serviced every 6-12 months, depending on the manufacturer’s recommendations. The exact inclusions of your car service and mobile car service will vary depending on how much work is needed on your car. Some of the popular car services you can book on Airtasker include:
Oil and oil filter change
An oil and oil filter change will help your car run smoothly and increase fuel efficiency. It’s one of the most important parts of a service and should be included in both minor and major services. Your mechanic will find the oil drain plug, loosen and unscrew it, and carefully allow the old oil to drain into a pan. Then they’ll replace and tighten the plug before removing and replacing the filter. Finally, they’ll fill up with fresh oil up to the “full” mark on the dipstick.
Car minor service
A minor service is also known as an interim or basic service. It focuses on changing and topping up fluids and inspecting a number of components for wear and tear. A minor service includes an oil and filter change; an under-body and under-bonnet inspection; a top-up of all key fluids in the engine, including washer fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze, and steering fluid; and a check of up to 35 key components, such as lights, tyres, and brakes. Car major service
A major service includes all the basic services described above, but will also include an inspection of an additional 15-30 car components to ensure that your vehicle is in the best condition possible. These components can include wheel bearings, shock absorbers, and the air conditioning system. Any parts that need extra work or replacement, such as car batteries or windscreens, will be billed as extra.

Looking for an experienced mechanic for a pre purchase inspection. It’s a 2018 Holden Colorado 4x4 so someone that knows these cars would be ideal. Car was serviced 18mths ago and these were the notes: WORK DONE: SERVICE AND CHECK OVER AT 297375KMS REPLACED OIL AND OIL FILTER STAMPED LOG BOOK REPLACED BOTH HEADLIGHT GLOBES TEST DRIVEN FUTURE WORK: FRONT TYRES DUE TO BE REPLACED LH REAR TYRE DUE OT BE REPLACED RH WHEEL BEARING DUE TO BE REPLACED- COULD POSSIBLY NEED CV SHAFT TO BE REPLACED DUE TO DAMAGE WIPER BLADES NOISY AND MISSING CLIPS- RECOMMEND REPLACING COMPLETE BLADES MISFIRE AT IDLE TIMING BLET HISTORY UNKOWN- DUE EVERY 100,000KMS- RECOMMEND REPLACING IF HISTORY STILL UNKNOWN FAN BELTS DUE TO BE REPLACED- RECOMMEND REPLACING WITH TIMING BELT FUEL FILTER HISTORY UNKNOWN- RECOMMEND REPLACING IF UNKNOWN ALL ROTORS HAVE RUST (SUSPECT CAUSING SOUND) - PADS IN GOOD CONDITION ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON- SCANNED AND CLEARED CODES OXYGEN SENSOR CODE APPEARED- LOOKS IKE SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED PREVIOUSLY I know some of that is major. But if timing belt and fan belts can be done affordibly this weekend then i am happy to have it done I will find out what her wheel and tyre size is and look into getting that done
