Hello, The fans just arrived. They are from FanCo, 52” horizon Got budget of $300 with the Airtasker fees. They need to be mounted in two bedrooms, in the middle of the room. Ceiling are drywall, there are metallic studs but not where the fan/ls have to be mounted. There is a spare dedicated wall switch and power socket already in the ceiling for the fan, might need a short cordon extension. I would like the fan support to be fixed in the slab. They are heavy. The concrete slab is about 30cm away. There is no roof access, so gybrock needs to be cut. I will take care of patching. I am not that confident a piece of wood between two studs will do the job to support up to 55kg. The ceiling doesn’t seem that sturdy. Top floor apartment (level 3) Plaster board ceilings. Removal of oyster light and replace with ceiling fan for two bedrooms. Will look to do down lights at a later date.

This is a drywall ceiling (flat), There is power outlet already. There is no studs in the area, basically the small ikea light is in the middle space of two studs. I will try to measure the concrete cavity. Cavity is 275mm From what I can read, it is not recommended to put brace kit between ceiling studs.
