I have a new Synology 920+ NAS and want to set it up as the storage for my home network as well as enabling Plex Media Server for viewing on devices at home and away from home. All physical connections are set up (as far as I know). Synology 920+ is connecting well via laptop Wifi. Connections I want to enable, as a minimum, are: 1. Synology: windows laptops + Apple iPads for storage & network access; Samsung TVs for media access 2. Plex: any device access to media folder both at home and away from home I'd also like to set up security profiles on the Optus 5G and Plex, if possible, for children and visitors. I'm sure there are other features of Synology that I could use, particularly around file backups. Ideally you can provide broad advice as to how to best use the technology and a basic education on what i need to do for 'maintenance' work. - Due date: Flexible

I have a 2020 Macbook Pro, Iphone 11 and am looking at getting Mac Mini and Airpad Pro. i have been rolling the Macbook Pro from one model to the next using Timemachine but I think the current one needs a real cleanup and optimisation. Lot's of legacy stuff slowing it down. I also want to synchronise Outlook across the Macbook Pro and Ipad Pro if get one. I also run four screens from the Macbook Pro - two thunderbolt displays and two 4k Dell screens. I do most of my work at my office desk in St Ives and use the laptop only when I have to go to meeting or travel and so have been wondering if it would be better to use a Mac Mini as a desktop and synchronise files with the other devices using Dropbox. That is, there is quite a bit that I want to try and optimise.
