Concrete pick up

Your contractor will pick up the concrete from either a concrete plant or a hardware store, depending on whether you need dry concrete or premixed concrete. Ready-mixed concrete is used for bigger jobs like driveway concreting and garage slabs. They’ll then drive to your location and deliver the concrete, ensuring any spillage can be easily cleaned up, so that there is no risk of it entering the stormwater system (this can cause slurry pollution in waterways, the hardening of stormwater pipes, and lead to fines). To trap any spillage, your contractor will put the necessary controls in place before pumping, such as placing plastic under the concrete pump and applying temporary bunds across all downslope gutters. Clean up

If this isn’t possible, they’ll take them to a washdown depot. Your delivery person will take all their equipment with them when they leave and ensure the area is left clean and tidy. If they used a concrete mixer truck, they’ll drive this to a suitable waste management facility to empty out any remaining unused concrete, ready for recycling.
