So you’ve recently made the purchase, but you’re not sure how to install a vented tumble dryer. We know not everyone’s good with tools and machinery. At Airtasker, we got you covered. Preparing the installation site
The moment you plan to install a new dryer, it’s important that your installation site is ready. Your Tasker will ensure all the connections and, depending on the type of dryer, the proper exhausts or vents should be ready and safe to use. Should there be any issues with vents, exhausts or electrical systems before your installation, you may need to get a handyman to have these checked.
Preparing your new dryer
Dryer installation technicians could also help you unbox your dryer if needed and check if there are any defects or damages if you’re not familiar. They can also help you check if everything supposed to be in the box is all accounted for. If you have an existing dryer, you could also ask them to disconnect and tear it out for you if they can. Then they’re going to have it ready to complete your condenser or vented tumble dryer installation.
Connecting your appliance
Not sure how to install a tumble dryer yourself? Don’t fret, since a Taske can take care of it for you. They take charge of connecting your appliance to the electrical socket. We have bought a brand new 5.5kg Westinghouse dryer that we need mounted in our laundry cupboard above our top-loader washing machine. It came with two mounting brackets and spacers, thats it. We are in a rented apartment so the less damage we do to the walls the better. We believe the studs behind the wall are too far apart to drill both brackets, and if we have the dryer too low on the wall, it will overlap the backsplash tiling. Height between ceiling and top of backsplash tiling: 76cm Height between ceiling and open washing machine lid: 90cm (dryer height is 79.5cm) Width of space between left & right walls: 104cm (dryer width is 60cm) Depth from back wall to the frame of laundry door: 70.5cm (dryer depth is 56cm) Depth from back wall to where the laundry door closes: 78cm Dryer weight is 26.6kg.
We sent the call out to mount our new dryer in our apartment, and Dante was great with communication and availability and did the job. Very happy :)
