Townhouse Front and rear garden some current plant but need help in plant selection and planting and soil preparation

We have a courtyard at the rear of our house (10mx4m). It currently has a Photinia Robusta hedge (5m high) boundary on two sides, and the house and entry on the other. Im keen to have a garden design and implementation likely using artificial turfing in the area, and creating a one meter garden bed surrounding it on all sides. We are also considering installing swinging double gates at the entry. It is currently grass/dirt with a trailer and boat parked there, but would like it more functional and pleasant to use. The trailers will be relocated. The work would be tidy up, install garden edging (suggest concrete sleepers or metal garden edging) then turf the area (level, prepare and install). Looking for someone to complete the entire task. Very happy to provide more information if you need it.

We have a 160m sq front yard which has the basic landscape done just need the plant setup as per North orientation. We also have a 160m sq backyard which is a blank slate currently and needs a landscape design and plant selection help.
