I have a canopy rangehood in my kitchen which vents externally through the wall. See photos. The problem is even if i have the fan on medium, the smell stills go upstairs in the house in all the rooms where it lingers for a few hours. I don't think the rangehood is extracting. When it is on, i can go outside where the vent is and I can feel air and smell coming out. So the fan is working. I am hoping someone can help me investigate what is wrong with my rangehood and maybe have a deeper look at the ducts and check whether the ducts are fully connected on each ends to the external vent.
