I need couple of stairs cemente rendering properly and water proof if it’s possible

I’m looking for someone with more experience than myself to partially drop the headliner in my Toyota FJ cruiser so I can replace a missing roof rack fixing. This is a bit beyond the level of experience I have with internal trim etc. Full context: the roof rack mounting bracket has come off the clip and fallen into the gap between roof and headliner. The only way to replace it is to drop the headliner. It’s the middle rack mount on the drivers side so I’m hoping only a partial dropping is needed to provide enough space to retrieve and clip in existing bracket or replace with a new one. I’d attempt this myself but I’ve never done it before and want someone with more confidence or experience. Should only take less than an hour.

Fix this situation please. Would like existing structure to be used if possible. Air con was removed so need it patched so I can paint it.
