2 curtain rods put up on brick walls and the bottom doors of two wardrobes shaved off an inch so door goes over rug (ideally done in situ without taking the doors off their hinges, with a ryobi door trimmer or somesuch)

Gate difficult to lock due to wear and tear and misalignment of bar attachment to gate (see picture) will require additional screws into wall to fix/resetting of lock area.
