We have moved into a 60 year old single level house and want to remove the carpet in the lounge room, dining room, kitchen and hallway and get the original floorboards sanded and polished. There are also an extension that was completed that only has partial board underneath and we would need to add floorboards on top.

We are looking to install hardwood flooring in a single room of our flat in Abbotsford. We prefer durable, high-quality hardwood with a natural finish, but are open to recommendations based on the space and its usage. Existing flooring has already been removed. Approx 15 timber floorboards that require replacing due to damage, new boards need to be sanded and polished to match existing floorboards as best as possible. Task will require: - initial visit to measure damaged floorboards (also confirm type of floorboards) - sourcing the new floorboards - removing and replacing the damaged floorboards - sanding and polishing the new boards as required

Hey team, Need a professional flooring company to aid me in ripping up carpet in a newly purchased house and polish the hardwood floorboards beneath. There is also some sort of vinyl in the back half of the house which I’d like to do the same for. Beyond the kitchen I plan to tile and make this a laundry / bathroom so nothing needs to be done there. I know it would be hard to quote without seeing the property in person, settlement date is on the 13th of December so post that can walk people through. Just looking for some indicative offers / quotes at the moment based on pictures. I’ve had a nice cheap quote for floating floors at $2000-$2500, but would much prefer to bring the old home to life. Tiles which we believe are glued or nailed to the fibreboard and then to a raw hardwood floor, to be removed. The raw hardwood floor, underneath, must not be damaged. The area is approx 2m by 1.8 m. Again we are not sure what is directly underneath the tiles. All must be taken away.

We've just removed the carpet from my room, revealing hardwood floorboards underneath. The tack has already been removed, but we need them polished and restored. The room is about 5.0M by 3.5M, and I'd appreciate someone with experience in restoring floorboards. I ripped up old carpet and found beautiful hardwood floorboards underneath. I’m wary of damaging the floor when removing the old carpet edge tack strips (approx 22m in total around the edge of the room) plus one transition strip (2m) so seeking some help to gently remove them without marking the floor. I’m aware there will be small holes once the strips are removed - will consider options once I’ve had a look after their removal.
