Kanwal NSW, Australia
25th Aug 2022
Central Coast near Wyong - I moved into a new house and I would like to know where to put plants in pots, where to put two person spa, what to do with a 6m x 6m area overlooking the pool which is just a concrete slab. Would like to use it as an area to sit in outside pool fence. Very little not paved area but need to plant vegetables and flowers. I have fruit trees in pots. I would like a water feature and outdoor shower for use by swimmers. Shade cloth or umbrellas for pool area. I need a design to make garden a great place to sit and enjoy with solar lights to light up at night. - Due date: Before Saturday, September 10, 2022 negotiable

What does a landscape design service include?
Landscape design sounds like a tall order; good thing landscape designers exist to help organise your ideas. Whether you aim to redesign your childhood backyard or develop a brand new concept you find difficult to unpack, a skilled and creative landscape designer can deliver a detailed final plan, either printed or digitally produced.Â
Explore these services:
Landscape analysis
To ensure a systematic process, the Tasker does an initial site visit first. It allows landscape designers to fully understand your style so they can come up with a solution that will best reflect your personality and choice of aesthetics. Understanding your location, lifestyle, and climate will help them better plan and gauge possible challenges. It’s best to also discuss your ideas, budget, and other requests during this phase.Â
Should unforeseen circumstances arise and the designer won’t be able to show up to your place, you can instead send them photos of your current landscape and discuss through messaging.
Those specifically booked for landscape architecture can also perform a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis—this gives the architect a better idea of what materials and landscape structures will bring the best outdoor living space.
Landscape planning and design proposal
Next, the specialist in landscape design comes up with the initial design proposal based on the gathered insights and discussions with you. The sketches and the layout can be presented through pen-and-paper or digital means. In this phase, you’ll be able to have a clearer idea of how your future landscape will look like. If you’re requesting a garden design, you’ll be able to visualise suggested features like plants, flowers, hedges, trees, pathways, and the turf.
If you want a little boost, you can ask your Tasker to include pools, garden bench seats, water features like ponds and waterfalls, and even a gazebo. Most of all, there should be open communication—don’t hesitate to give your feedback so the expert can make necessary revisions until you feel satisfied with the design.
A landscape architect can also provide sketch designs, prepare a list of recommended hardscape and softscape materials, budget range, and estimated time frame. You can also communicate modifications or replacements to avoid future disputes.
Landscape final concept plan
The landscape design process usually caps off with a final concrete plan that will guide you towards the correct execution. Once the design proposal is approved, your designer hands over a final concept plan—which typically contains 2D or 3D visuals—furniture and material recommendations and samples, demolitions if applicable, and detailed plan for each landscape feature.Â
Landscape project implementation
An expert you hired for landscape architecture can also professionally oversee the implementation to ensure a smooth-running project. Since they sketched the landscape design, they can also help verify if the construction and installation are going according to plan. They can also check for potential risks and address them before costly damages happen.
