Why book a drone training service through Airtasker?

Flying a drone can be exciting and daunting at the same time, but getting drone training is within reach on Airtasker! We have plenty of skilled drone training instructors who can help you progress from a complete beginner to a confident commercial operator.

Besides obtaining knowledge and skills in drone flying, you are legally required to undergo training to gain the relevant qualification for your drone and how you plan to operate, especially if you want to use it for commercial purposes. Even if you plan to use a drone only for recreational reasons, you still need to fly the equipment safely and under government regulations.

All these may sound like a hassle, but your Tasker can turn these processes into a breeze! Start by putting up a task and indicating your budget, schedule, and location. Taskers in your area will approach you with their offers, and you can choose who among them you think best fits your needs based on their profiles, ratings, and reviews. Top Drone Training related questions

A drone operator is a legal person, organisation, or entity that intends to operate one or more drones. These operations rely on individual drone pilots to manipulate the aircraft’s flight controls during flight time. The drone pilot is the one who manually uses the drone unit and monitors its course for an automatic flight. These two terms are often used interchangeably, but they have a significant difference in the legal context.

It depends on many factors, including whether you are flying for fun and pure recreational purposes or flying for profit. Those flying drones to generate income need to secure a licence. You also need to consider the size of your drone because if it weighs anywhere between 250 g and 20 kg, you would need the proper certifications and permits to use it.

To become a certified drone pilot or operator, you must first pass an online test to get a flyer ID if you want to fly a drone or model aircraft. For those responsible for a drone or model aircraft, you need to register for an operator ID. Lastly, it’s required for you to label any drones and model aircraft you’re responsible for with your operator ID.

Because of the availability of learning sources, you can teach yourself the basics of flying a drone. But it’s still essential for you to get a drone training instructor to make sure you’re doing it correctly, safely, and legally. Also, if you’re planning to acquire certifications and licences, a Tasker can be a huge help to pass your exams.

You may want to have your own drone, depending on your purpose. For beginners, it’s recommended that you train using DJI Mini 2, DJI Mavic Mini, Parrot Anafi FPV, or Ryze Tello. If you don’t have these on hand, you can ask for store recommendations from your Tasker or rent a unit. It would also be great if you have your own drone landing pads and remote controller sunshade.

There are two payment options you can choose from. You can either pay via cash or through Airtasker Pay if you prefer cashless transactions. You need to discuss this detail with your Tasker beforehand, as well as the frequency of your payment. Talk about whether you want to pay them after every session, every week, or every month.

What do drone training services include?

Drone training services involve teaching you everything you need to learn about drones, including the fundamentals of operating and flying one. You will also learn all the laws you need to abide by to fly a drone safely and legally. Your instructor may also help you prepare for the exams you need to pass to obtain your licence. Here’s what you can expect when booking drone training near you:

Drone pilot training

Whether you’re flying a drone for the first time or need a refresher, having a drone flying training near you is an excellent choice. You will first need to grasp theoretical knowledge before proceeding to the technicals of flying a drone. Before starting your drone training course, be sure to let your instructor know your purpose in flying a drone. Most drone instructors can also conduct drone camera training and drone videography training, whether it’s for film and TV, real estate, inspection work, or photogrammetry.

If you happen to lose sight of your drone or it gets stuck somewhere hard to reach, you can also get a Tasker to retrieve your drone, so you get it back in one piece! In such cases, your drone may also be damaged. There’s no need to worry since you can also find someone who can readily repair your drone for you.

Drone technician training

Drones can be fragile and accident-prone, so it would save you a lot of trouble and money if you can fix your drone yourself! Drone technician training teaches you how to maintain and troubleshoot tasks on your drone. This can include small drones made to take aerial photos or videos of difficult-to-reach places or larger drones meant to transport goods or help with firefighting and other emergency operations. Your instructor can teach you theories and technicals and how to choose and adapt to continuously evolving technologies!

Drone operator training

When you already have the basic skills and you’re looking to use them to start a drone flying business, you can book drone operator training to help you get started! Here, your instructor can teach you all the legal processes of establishing your commercial entity. They can help you absorb all the things you need to learn to pass your licensure exam and get your authorisation. You may also learn how to plan and implement drone missions and choose the correct drone units and pilots to be successful. Once your training is finished, you can now establish your commercial drone operations! You can also use the Airtasker platform to get aerial and drone photographers to fill in your team!
