I have a Lockwood door latch that I have just fitted to a new front door. It has been woking perfectly though the lock is secondhand. Now my key won't open my front door. But when I enter house through the rear door, and approach the front door and unlock it from the inside, my key works perfectly well when the door is open. It turns the tongue or whatever the name is of the moving bit that engages with the door jamb. But when I shut the door, the key refuses to turn and will not open the door.
