The Backlight on my 2011 17inch macbook pro is out. if i shine a torch through the apple i can see what is happening on the screen so i dont think the issue is the screen. laptop works perfectly fine if plugged into external screen.

IF ANYONE CAN COME TODAY AND HAVE A SERVICE GUARANTEE PLEASE COMMENT ASAP: Need Macbook that is stuck as 'full' of 'other' but won't back up onto external hard drive, to be backed up so can be cleared so there is space to backup phone so can get replacement ready at Apple. Then need to combine that back up with my old phone back up (old phone never merged onto the phone that is being replaced) to new phone (txts and imessages). Then set up the icloud so that ALL the photos stop syncing onto the phone and taking up all the space on the phone, but so they are still backed up (family sharing make new user... I was told at Apple something along these lines is a way to do it...) + Ipad was replaced needs to be set up. (+ if there is anyway to download imessage thread to PDF ect form).

Have a MacBook Pro 2011 17 inch I believe the graphic card looks like it is faulty as after powering up there is only a grey screen. The hard drive was recto to upgraded to ssd. We only use this unit for email and internet browsing so will repair at a reasonable price.
