Recently used airtasker for auto electrician, ran tests Map sensor was replaced unfortunately now the work requires a mechanic to do the rest Current fault codes matched with Dodge & Auto codes and report of 2nd mechanics work attached I understand there are a total of 8 codes down from 12 and some codes are the same Price for work negotiable 1) FAULT - 1,2,5 CODE: P0108 – Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Definition: High Speed CAN Communication Bus Dodge Description: Monitor runs whenever following DTCs are not present: None Battery voltage: 10.5 V or more Power switch: On (IG) Auto codes Description The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor and the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor are combined into one component. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) provides a common 5-Volt Supply and sensor ground that is shared by both sensors. Each of these sensors sends feedback to the PCM on its own signal circuit. The MAP sensor is a transducer that varies resistance according to changes in altitude and atmospheric conditions. With the ignition on and the engine not running, the MAP Sensor provides the PCM with the Barometric Pressure reading. When the engine is running, the MAP Sensor signal supplies the PCM with the current air pressure within the Intake Manifold. The IAT Sensor signal supplies the PCM with the temperature of the air entering the Intake Manifold. This information is used by the PCM, along with other inputs to calculate fuel delivery, and timing needs. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will set when the MAP sensor signal voltage is above 4.88 volts for 0.5 seconds. Dodge Cause: CAN Communication Bus circuit Faulty module Auto Codes possible causes: Faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor harness is open or shorted Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor circuit poor electrical connection Faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM) 2) FAULT – 3,6 CODE: P0882 TCM Power Input Signal Low Definition: Faulty Transmission Control Relay Transmission Control Relay harness is open or shorted Transmission Control Relay circuit poor electrical connection Auto Codes Description: The transmission control relay is used to supply power to the solenoid pack when the transmission is in normal operating mode. When the relay is off, no power is supplied to the solenoid pack and the transmission is in Limp-in mode. The relay output is fed back to the Powertrain Control Module PCM. It is referred to as the Transmission Control Relay Output circuit or switched battery. After a controller reset (ignition key turned to the run position or after cranking engine), the controller energizes the relay. Prior to this the PCM verifies that the contacts are open by checking for no voltage at the switched battery terminals. After the relay is energized, the PCM monitors the terminals to verify that the voltage is greater than 3 volts. Dodge Cause: Check the "Possible Causes" listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector's pins. 3) FAULT – 4 CODE: P0740 – Torque Converter Clutch Circuit/ Open Definition: System Disabled Information Value of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect Dodge Description: Ignition voltage is greater than 10 volts. Auto codes Description: The torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, with the gear in D4, by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the vehicle speed and the Engine Control Module (ECM). Lock-up piston operation will then be controlled. When the torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, the torque converter lockup clutch will engage creating a 1 to 1 RPM ratio between the transmission input shaft and the rotational speed of the torque converter. Lock-up operation, however, is prohibited when A/T fluid temperature is too low. When the accelerator pedal is depressed (less than 2/8) in lock-up condition, the engine speed should not change abruptly. If there is a big jump in engine speed, there is no lock-up. Dodge Cause: The EBCM receives an invalid serial data message from another module. The PCM sets the OBDII code when the Clutch Pedal Switch is not to factory specifications.
