Dog Care Services
What does a mobile dog wash service include?
Airtasker’s mobile dog wash service includes the typical wash and dry routine for your pet. Your Tasker arrives in their dog wash station, which comes with a water supply plus the tools and products for bathing your pet. Though the specifics may vary from Tasker to Tasker, here’s what you can expect when you book a mobile dog wash service through our platform.Â
Shampooing & rinsing your pet
First, your Tasker arrives in the van that has a water tank and all the necessary equipment for bathing your pet. If you have a preferred dog shampoo or if your dog needs a special kind of product (e.g. medicated shampoo or a bar of special soap), you can ask your Tasker to provide this. Or, you can bring out your stock of dog shampoo - don’t forget to get it back before the wash station leaves!
Once the supplies and the water are ready, your Tasker brushes your pet’s fur. This helps detangle and de-matt the fur since these knots can get worse over time. Then, the Tasker gently wets your pet’s body and gives them a nice massage with shampoo or soap-free cleanser. Then, they’ll wet and shampoo the head and face before giving your dog a rinse. Your Tasker makes sure all residue has been removed before going on to the next step.
Blow-dry or towelling-off for your pet
Once your pet has been shampooed, the Tasker dries them off, either with a towel or a blow dryer. Afterwards, they may brush your dog’s coat to make sure they look their best as they dry off. Â
While your mobile dog washer may have their own towels, it doesn’t hurt to offer your pet’s towels. This can help prevent accidentally spreading or catching ticks or fleas from other dogs who have used the towel before. These parasites can spread from pet to pet and can even cause an infestation in your home.
Once your pet is dried off, your dog washer will ask you to check on them and see if you’re satisfied with their bath. Then, the Tasker will pack up, wave goodbye to you and your furry friend, and be on their way.
