What does a motorcycle mechanic do?

Similar to any four-wheeled vehicle, different motorcycle brands have a complex structure and electrical system that only a professional can fully understand. If you're having any issues with your motorbike, don't guess the problem or try to tweak the engine on your own—let Airtasker help you out! Be it a simple diagnostic check or a complicated repair and replacement, the motorcycle mechanic comes to you and can apply all their mechanical and electrical expertise that will exceed your expectations. Here are some classic motorcycle mechanic services that you can expect:

Diagnostic Check

Aside from regular maintenance, the first step to keeping your motorcycle in its best condition is having a regular diagnostic check. With the right set of tools and equipment, your specialist will accurately assess and inspect every inch of your motorbike, including its exhaust system, carburettor, throttle, and brakes. They can also give you expert advice in case they find any potential problems that may compromise your driving safety.

Routine Maintenance

Routine maintenance is a worthy investment that will keep you from spending on more expensive repairs and even save you from accidents. It can help extend the life of your bike and also secure your safety while driving. Some of the maintenance services include essential oil and air filter change, tyre repair and replacements, chain cleaning, coolant change, and spark plugs replacement, among others.

Motorcycle Repair

Inevitably, some motorcycle parts will eventually wear down and require extensive repair. Expert mechanics can assist you with almost any motorcycle repair job so you can get back on the road as soon as possible. From tuning the engine and removing fender dents to fixing scratches and repairing breaks, we've got you covered!

Part Replacement

If your motorcycle has any severely damaged parts, then you may need to have them replaced. While some are easy to remove, some components are installed deep in the engine and may require extra work and time. The excellent hand-eye coordination of motorcycle mechanics makes this task easy and accurate. They can skillfully remove and replace even the smallest, and most intricate part of your motorcycle so you don't have to worry about any misalignment or faulty installation. If you're worried about buying the wrong spare parts, you can also ask your tasker for assistance before making a purchase.

Help fixing code p0652 on 2014 ford ranger px1

$250

Eaglemont VIC, Australia

24th Dec 2024

Been having an ongoing issue with code P0652 on my 2014 ford ranger wildtrak auto. The code states “Sensor Reference Voltage B Circuit Low” Ive tried finding the issue myself and have taken it to a mechanic and auto electrician aswell, but there has been no definitive solution found and both my mechanic and auto elec are completely stumped. Looking at potentially taking it to ford next to see if it is a known issue, but i know they would charge me through the roof so i thought i would see if anyone would be willing to take a crack at it. The symptoms are: -Stalling when coming to a stop (not every time but often) -stability control light coming on -powertrain light coming on -sometimes complete loss of throttle -clunky changes from drive to reverse when powertrain and stability light come one (later found out this is due to transmission going into limp mode) - despite the stalling, there is no rough idling/surging in idle etc - all symptoms seem to mostly appear up when the engine has warmed up The parts we have changed so far are: -crank angle sensor (OEM) -cam position sensor (OEM) -Fuel pressure sensor (OEM) -wiring harness across the timing cover has been checked and taped up (wires had not rubbed through when taped up) -bolt and connection on the back of the alternator has been soldered and checked (referenced in the video when you type up p0652 ford ranger) -alternator has been changed -relays have all been changed - injectors have been tested and checked - all appear healthy
