Fit an oil pan

$200

Coffs Harbour NSW, Australia

28th Nov 2024

I have a Volkwagon Bora 2001 and need a new oil pan fitted. I have all the parts needed and have unbolted the old one, but I can't get it off because I can't remove the gasket seal and I can't get the car high enough off the ground to work underneath.

What do oil and filter change services include?

The oil and oil filter go hand-in-hand to ensure that your car is at its best possible condition. Not only does it lubricate your engine and absorbs the heat inside your vehicle, but it also removes wastes, debris, and dirt that enter your motor to keep it clean. When the time comes that you need an oil and filter change, leave it to Airtasker! Our expert mechanics will use only the appropriate tools and filters to ensure a job well done right from the get-go. If you're getting your car oil and filter changed for the first time, here's what to expect:

Oil and Filter Assessment
Upon arriving, your mechanic will first inspect your vehicle before draining the old engine oil and replacing the filter. This process involves starting your car and warming up your motor oil. Then, they will lift your vehicle to locate the drain plug and place an oil pan underneath while draining out the old motor oil.

Oil and Filter Replacement
After draining out the old engine oil, your mechanic will proceed with removing the old filter using a wrench. Then, they will put a small amount of engine oil to the gasket to avoid leaks. Once they replace the oil filter with a new one, they will pour in the correct grade and amount of oil suited for your vehicle using a funnel to avoid leaks.

Final Inspection and Testing
After placing the new oil and filter, your mechanic will do a final inspection by starting the engine and letting it run it for a few minutes. This step will help ensure that the new motor oil is circulating smoothly and that there are no signs of leakage around the drain plug and filter. Afterwards, they will insert a dipstick inside the tank to ensure that the oil has the correct reading.
