If you're getting your car oil and filter changed for the first time, here's what to expect:
Oil and Filter Assessment
Upon arriving, your mechanic will first inspect your vehicle before draining the old engine oil and replacing the filter. This process involves starting your car and warming up your motor oil. Then, they will lift your vehicle to locate the drain plug and place an oil pan underneath while draining out the old motor oil. Â
Oil and Filter Replacement
After draining out the old engine oil, your mechanic will proceed with removing the old filter using a wrench. Then, they will put a small amount of engine oil to the gasket to avoid leaks. Once they replace the oil filter with a new one, they will pour in the correct grade and amount of oil suited for your vehicle using a funnel to avoid leaks.
Final Inspection and Testing
After placing the new oil and filter, your mechanic will do a final inspection by starting the engine and letting it run it for a few minutes. This step will help ensure that the new motor oil is circulating smoothly and that there are no signs of leakage around the drain plug and filter. Afterwards, they will insert a dipstick inside the tank to ensure that the oil has the correct reading.

Im looking for somebody who specialise in fixing oil leaks. My honda crv 2003 has oil leaks again. From Iast year around October I already replaced the solenoid and gasket cover something which all of the part list still with me you can see for reference if needed, but now the oil leaks is back and Im really scared because I use the car as my home. Our car (Jeep Grand Cherokee 2012) was leaking, and we took it to a mechanic before using an oil stop leak. We are not sure if they fixed the leak completely. We used the oil stop leak as an extra precaution. However, there might still be some leakage. We are getting the car park cleaned soon and need a mechanic to double-check and ensure that there are no further leaks. If there are any, we need them fixed. The picture shows the existing leak, which might include the old leak because we haven't cleaned it fully yet. We're unsure if there is any new oil leakage. Thank you.
