If you're getting your car oil and filter changed for the first time, here's what to expect:
Oil and Filter Assessment
Upon arriving, your mechanic will first inspect your vehicle before draining the old engine oil and replacing the filter. This process involves starting your car and warming up your motor oil. Then, they will lift your vehicle to locate the drain plug and place an oil pan underneath while draining out the old motor oil. Â
Oil and Filter Replacement
After draining out the old engine oil, your mechanic will proceed with removing the old filter using a wrench. Then, they will put a small amount of engine oil to the gasket to avoid leaks. Once they replace the oil filter with a new one, they will pour in the correct grade and amount of oil suited for your vehicle using a funnel to avoid leaks.
Final Inspection and Testing
After placing the new oil and filter, your mechanic will do a final inspection by starting the engine and letting it run it for a few minutes. This step will help ensure that the new motor oil is circulating smoothly and that there are no signs of leakage around the drain plug and filter. Afterwards, they will insert a dipstick inside the tank to ensure that the oil has the correct reading.

Need someone to help remove/refit: - the oil pan/sump - oil strainer and baffle plate All in the same vicinity once oil pan is removed. Its for a 2007 Aurion in order to clean out leftover sludge buildup remnants/debris in these areas. Sludge has already been cleaned out in the valve cover/body up above. Happy to do the cleaning myself if your mobile, just need help to remove and refit. Would need black gasket sealant (can supply) to refit.
