The toilet flush is not working

Our main bathroom shower waterproofing failed, while we wait on insurance to review that we’ve been using a rough shower in our laundry. The laundry shower is just a cement base, and while the join between tiles and clement floor of the shower base has been gap filled, after using for a week water is starting to leach out into the floor and wall outside the shower. We need a short term solution to this as we’re about to renovate the house and don’t want a full bathroom rebuild. Our handyman suggested it may be possible to install a rubber tub under the tiles and up the wall - but need a bathroom expert.
