I have multiport sand filter and it’s working perfectly fine. Generally beside the multi port, it has small glass tube through which you can see the water flow. This is useful when I do the backwash as I can clearly see the dirty water flowing through it. The same was true when I activate the filter knob. I could see the water bubbles flowing through it. But now there is no water flow when I activate the filter mode. Although I noticed water reenter the pool as usual. So now sure if filter is working or not. Also , when I change the mode to backwash, rinse , recirculate then I could see water flowing through the transparent glass tube.
