I have a big top in a tunic style. I have cut it on both sides at the seams to make a tunic, however it didn't go very well. I'd like to have the sides hemmed so it looks neater, but still leave both sides open from the waist down. Please refer to photos. I made some mistakes cutting this. You don't have to fix the holes, just cut away the fabric so it's even. This is for a costume, and I will wear a shirt underneath. Thank you! Please let me know if you can fix it. :)
