I have a dress that is mid length. It is a little more snug than I would like on my hips. I want it to skim more than cling. If the dress is made shorter can that material be used to make it flow more on my hips?

I have 2 blankets that I need patches sewn on. Some have already been hand sewn but could do with being sewn on properly as some are coming loose. Others haven’t been sewn on at all. Pictured is one blanket which is folded in half so has double the space shown and shows the number of patches that need sewing. Patches on the 2 different blankets differ slightly so they are not identical. Although I’ve posted a due date, there is no rush.
