A floating shelf is attached to a wall with no visible means of support, and are popular for their modern, minimalistic look. I’m in need of some shelves to be installed on an internal wall in a bedroom. The shelves are pine and need to be cut to size to fit. The wall is brick, however, I have attempted to install the shelves but the brick seems soft? I’ve received advice from a builder that the first 15-20mm is soft render and behind that is solid brick. It is a 140 year old terrace in Paddington. I have the shelves and brackets but don’t have the screws for the wall. Can anyone assist or provide advice on this?

Basic shelf install, into wall. It's 2 X rails. Just need the rails bolted into the wall correct distance apart. I had a floating shelf installed but it fell out with only 3kg weight. Today if possible, the other installer was unable to attend. Location is house with street parking outside. 20 seconds from street to room.

Install shelving on wall - think it is a brick wall, not sure what is running through it (pipes/electrical). Shelving is a 1950s shelving system. Has 4 brackets which need to be mounted to wall. With 5 screws - I don’t have screws or wall plugs etc. you will need to provide these. TV 75” to be mounted to wall have bracket to mount. Fan switch does not work think wired wrong - light and fan don’t work independently of each other. Happy to answer any questions you might have.
