Staining prep
First, a clear work area is ideal when staining. Extra furniture, potted plants, and frames must be removed. Staining your property or furniture will usually include cleaning it first. If staining will take place outdoors, it’s essential to check the weather conditions.
Wood Staining
When we talk of wood staining, it usually refers to fences and wooden furniture. Staining a fence gives your wood that splash of colour and protection it needs. The timber decking boards are convex and so a mechanical sander won’t work. Majority of the deck just needs to be cleaned before staining but an area of about 3m is exposed to the sun and the previous stain needs to be removed before re-sealing. This will need to be done by hand. I have the stain and am happy to do the full clean but need someone to sand the required area, give it a good sweep and then apply 2 coats of stain, allowing sufficient time between coats to dry.
