I have a wooden deck and outdoor bench which is being to fade in colour and would like to have it restained and protected from future sun damage.

I tried to fix an olive oil stain on my American oak dining table using bicarbonate soda paste followed by lemon juice and I made it soooo much worse. I need a skilled carpenter to sand it back and repair, keeping surface as even as possible. Can you help?
