What do Tow Bar Installation services include?
While it may seem like an easy DIY project, tow bar installation is something that a professional mechanic should handle to ensure that your safety won't be compromised. Taskers can help you not only with the installation process, but can also give you advice on how to maintain the durability of your tow bar. If needed, you can also ask them to assist you with choosing the most suitable tow bar for your vehicle, which could be any of the following:
Fixed Flange Ball
Perhaps the most favoured and versatile option, the Fixed Flange Ball is recognised for its ability to work with almost any accessory and its compatibility with a broader range of vehicles. It has a tow ball attached to a tow neck using two to four 24mm bolts, making it possible to secure other fixing arrangements like cycle carriers and electric kits. Unlike most of its counterparts, the Fixed Flange Ball lets you carry cycling bikes and other large materials while towing (under the required weight limit). It's also fully adjustable, allowing altering on the towing height if necessary.
Detachable Swan Neck
In contrast to the Fixed Flange, the Swan Neck also has a tow ball and a tow neck, but they're attached as one single unit. As its name suggests, this tow bar can be removed anytime without restricting its towing performance. Although it can also secure extra fittings, you can't carry other materials and tow at the same time.
Fixed Swan Neck Tow Bar
Probably the least adjustable tow bar, the Fixed Swan Neck is rarely used but still preferred by few drivers because of its non-obtrusive look. Similar to the Detachable Swan Neck, you can attach additional fittings, but it must be separately used from towing. Also, keep in mind that the Fixed Swan Neck is only removable with the use of appropriate tools.
