I am looking for a skilled handyman or carpenter with experience working on sash windows. I have two sash windows set within a single large frame that need to be professionally stripped and repainted inside and outside to look as good as new. It’s essential that the work is done with care to ensure the windows continue to function properly once the paint has dried. As these windows are on the second floor, the job will require someone physically capable of using a ladder to access the exterior of the windows. Additionally, I need two small flyscreens installed on each of the sash windows for when they are open. Please note: One of the sash windows does not stay open on its own. If left unsupported, it slams shut, which could potentially shatter the glass. This task therefore requires extreme caution. While I plan to eventually hire a specialist or window carpenter to repair the window mechanism, that will be a separate job. Many of the specialists I’ve spoken to don’t handle stripping and painting, so I’d like to address this aspect first. Finally, I will need to notify and seek approval from the strata committee before any work begins. For this purpose, please provide detailed descriptions of the work to be carried out so I can forward it to them for review. Thank you!

Replace cords and service 2x sash windows to allow smooth operation

I have one sash window in the laundry room. The window does not close or open. Looks like the sash cord needs replacing. The sash weight might have an issue too but I’m not 100% sure of this.

I have a few tasks needing work. Mainly I have some sash windows in a property I am moving into soon that need service / repair. I think it one the sash cord needs to be replaced and the other may be the same or the weight balance is off. Glass panel is also broken in one and needs to be replaced. Separately I have some additional tasks needing to be done such as barn door roller track replacement with new, shifting internal door from one room to another, changing door handles. Would prefer someone come Take a look and quote first for the work but an approx or price guide first is required.
