Looking for someone handy to help us. We live in an apartment and have a heavy, fire proof door. We had to take it off the hinges to move something into our apartment and since we’ve put it back, the door makes a horrendous creaking sound. We believe the hinges are misaligned, or that it’s creaking on the silicon runner around the door frame (we had to put the hinges over the top of the silicon, previously they were underneath). The door is heavy so might require more than one person, or something to jack the door slightly up with.

Need to shift the strike plate on door frame up about 20mm, including cutting into door frame using a jigsaw, so that strike plate aligns with door latch

Laundry door needs to be re attached to the top two hinges. Shower door to be put back on the top hinge

We are new to our apartment and we suspect this door was never closed by previous owners. We want to be able to close it easily and quietly. Currently it closes, but it needs a silly amount of force and makes a loud noise. To us it seems the door is not square and is too closely touching the door jamb about 40cm below the door handle AND possibly at the lock plate as well. TASK -Assess issue -Determine remedy that is simplest, with least amount of fuss/mess and is most cost effective (New door hinges? I swopped the (bathroom) door knob for a different colour and now the door knob is not catching. It appears (almost) aligned so I believe it’s a simple job to resolve. May not even need to cut wooden door.

The door was removed by tradies to allow space for appliances and as I’m moving out I need to door reattached. There are two hinges left to attach - the very top and very bottom. The top hinge will need a ladder to get to and experience with these hinges is required.
