I have purchased a wedding dress in the correct size (10). But it still needs a few alterations. The shoulders need to be taken in without damaging the sleeve and it needs to be shortened. All of the alterations are possible and the boutique has offered to do it for me. However, I'd like to see if I could beat the price they quoted. They explained that the alterations are going to be more expensive than my expectations because the dress bodice was made of lace and appliques. However, I have already paid extra to have the dress made in the correct size and proportions. So I'd like to see if independent seamstresses can offer a better price with the same result.
