I have a classic Mercedes with some severe lacquer peel from a previous poor paint job, also requires various rust repairs and potentially a replacement bonnet. I also have a background in car body restoration and mechanics. I’m looking for someone to help out on an ad hoc basis to help me gradually, cost effectively repair and repaint panels - panel by panel. The end result needs to be by no means perfect, more a recommissioning project than a restoration. I need someone with a good understanding of paint and body repairs, bonus points for anyone with metal work experience. I have a Mig welder (Unlikely needed if we replace bonnet) and I also have paints, would be helpful if whoever can help has a compressor and somewhere to paint panels. I can source all materials. This can lead to further body and repair work on other more modern cars. The car can be taken offsite if necessary.
