What does a couch cleaning service include?
Couch cleaning services usually start with an assessment. Your cleaner will check the fabric/material type, the condition of the fabric, any manufacturer’s instructions, and the types of stains that need removing. This will determine the specific steps, methods, and inclusions.
Fabric sofa cleaning
If you have a fabric couch, your cleaner will start by dislodging and removing dirt using a dry brush with stiff bristles and a vacuum cleaner. Next, they’ll focus on removing any obvious stains by spot-treating specific areas and blotting them with a microfibre cloth and stain remover. After this, they’ll move onto cleaning the entire couch. Sofa steam cleaning is the most common method for fabric couches. Your cleaner will use an upholstery steam cleaner to clean and sanitise the entire surface of your couch. Once they’re finished, they’ll ensure all windows are open and fans switched on to help your freshly cleaned couch dry quickly.
Leather lounge cleaning
Leather couches might wipe clean with soapy water, but if you want your investment to last a long time, it’s best if you go one step further. After wiping your couch clean with leather soap and drying it thoroughly, your cleaner will use a soft cloth to apply leather cream. This will condition and moisturise the fabric, minimising cracks.
Stain removal
Stain removal might be part of your couch cleaning service, or you might engage a cleaner just to remove a problem stain or two. It’s best if you can get stains removed straight after they occur. If the stain is still wet, your cleaner will attempt to soak it up using paper towel. If your stain is dry, they’ll try to loosen it by blotting it with a damp cloth and detergent mixture. Next they’ll gently rinse the area with a fresh damp cloth before pressing with a dry towel. Alternatively, they may use a foaming fabric cleaner to remove more stubborn stains. The exact process used will depend on your couch material and the type of stain.
Car and upholstery cleaning
You might want to bundle your couch cleaning service with a carpet and upholstery clean. A lot of the time, cleaners will use the same equipment and techniques on a range of upholstery cleaning services, so you can get better value (and save time) by deep cleaning your couches, carpets, and other upholstered surfaces all in one.
