Need a bannister fitting to the basement. The wall is a stud wall so will need to fitted on the timber, think you need one of those detectors to map the timber beams

The chimney breast recess needs widening by half a brick each side and the height raised by 3 brick courses (concrete lintel onsite) and in necessary bricks taken out of the back of the opening, and small concrete base taken out of the opening. A granite or slate hearth needs purchasing...at present I have the oak mantle to go above the opening and am buying 5 oak floating shelves for the alcoves. I can expand on this if necessary.
