I tried to replace a faulty dimmer switch with a new one. I got this working but have inadvertently turned off the power to the neighbouring bathroom lights and fan. The trip switches are all on so I'm assuming that the problem is related to the dimmer wiring. So two things with the window: You can see it shifted left by the first photo and then a small gap on the right hand side at the bottom. Then there is the lock - the handle doesn’t seem to engage the mechanism that controls the locking pins that slide into the metal groves around the frame. So it needs someone who can adjust aluminium frames windows and work on the locking mech.
