We have one staircase by our front door which needs a stair runner carpet fit. We have already bought the carpet and there should be a considerable amount of excess material, so some cutting will likely be required from one end. There are also some stair rods to install.

I have a kitchen counter top that has an overhang to accommodate a breakfast bar. The breakfast bar is no longer needed, so this can be removed. It should be as simple as removing the excess with an electric saw of sorts, and then sanding down or replacing the cut side with the laminate.
