A lower ground floor flat with approx 45sq metres of old carpet to be pulled up and removed, put down new subfloor and lay laminate on top. Questionable old black mastic under the carpet! Job to include: • removal and disposal of old carpet • laying new subfloor • laying new laminate We will cover the cost and order the laminate ourselves, but all other materials need to be provided. I rent a third-floor bedroom in Canonbury, and there’s a loud creaky floorboard in front of my en-suite that disturbs my housemate below. I’m looking for someone to fix the creak beneath the carpet, ideally without lifting it – I’ve paid a deposit on the rental, so I’d rather not risk damaging the carpet. A temporary fix that lasts a couple of years is fine. I live on a private road with plenty of free parking right outside.

I need 2 people for a few hours to remove the existing carpet and underlay in three bedrooms. The carpet and underlay is attached to timber floorboards with pins. We are doing renovations works on the timber floorboards so the carpet / underlay will need to be removed so that the builders can access the timber floorboards directly. I can provide basic tools (claw hammer / plier / screwdriver) but any specialist tools for carpet removal will need to be brought by the persons doing the work. The removed carpet / underlay / pins can be left in the property in a safe pile as there is a skip collection to come next week. There is some flat packed furniture, in boxes, being stored in one of the rooms and these will need to be moved downstairs to another room before the carpet can be removed. 2 people should be able to manage - the heaviest box weighs 60kgs and most boxes are much lighter than that. I need this work done this weekend (2nd and 3rd December) before builders start next week. - Due date: Before Monday, 4 December 2023

Our kitchen has two radiators. They are an old-fashioned kind that are attached to the wall but with four feet screwed into the floor. We need a plumber to remove the two radiators so we can replace the kitchen floor, before reinstalling the same radiators again a few days later on top of the new floor.
